Archive Question #0034

my question I got asked to do is Briefly explain the following methods of paying workers

a)Flat rate
b)Time rate
c)piece rate

Ok - so you know HomeWork Elephant does not give answers just straight out - you have to work for it so we are going to tell you three options and you have to work out which one applies.

One of the workers gets paid based on the number of things they produce. For example a worker that painted cups in a pottery factory may get paid a certain amount for each piece of pottery painted.

Another worker may get paid based on how long they do their job for. They get paid by the hour. A good example is a shift worker who would be paid weekly based on the number of hours they had worked in a week'.

Finally one of the workers gets paid a set amount regardless of how long they work, or what they produce. These are usually 'salaried' workers and get paid monthly. They must work a minimum number of hours.

Now you have to work out which of the three types applies...
