Archive Question #0093

What is longitude and latitude?

A pattern of grid lines that we use to tell us where we are on the earth's surface. Latitude lines are the horizontal lines that start at 0 at the equator and run to 90 at the pole, and longitude lines are the vertical lines that start at Greenwich, London and run for 360 degrees back to Greenwich.
