I am doing a maths investigation about Tubes.
First I had to investigate the volume of tubes made out of 32 by
24 card. Then I had to investigate tubes made from different size
card but with the are 768cmsquared. I now have all these volumes
and need to make a formula. If you can give me any help or advice
please do.
Its all about ratios! (nearly all of maths is)
You have worked out the volume using the 32x24 card (so you used
one number to calculate the area of a circle and the other to calculate
the length of the tube to get your volume) in the other experiment
you used the area of the card - now you need a formula to relate
the area of the card to the volume of the tube. Use numbers for
your different variables 1. w x h = area 2. circumference = pi *
r*r note that the circumference is the same as your width If you
continue to get stuck ask me again and I will make it clearer
